Chip Sealing

Quality Surfacing, Inc. has provided paving and surface treatment services throughout the North State since 1989. We help residential, commercial, HOA, and private property owners evaluate practical paving options based on the condition of the site, how the surface will be used, and the project budget.

A Durable, Cost-Effective Paving Option

Chip seal combines an asphalt emulsion with carefully selected aggregate to create a durable wearing surface. Chip seal can be placed over existing pavement or a properly prepared and graded base, making it a versatile option for a variety of private and commercial properties.

Depending on the project, chip seal can also be a more cost-effective option than traditional asphalt paving. The right choice depends on factors such as the existing surface, site preparation, intended use, drainage, traffic, and the desired finished surface.

Our team can evaluate your property, discuss the available options, and help determine which approach best fits the site, use, and budget.

Why Choose Quality Surfacing for Chip Sealing?

One of Quality Surfacing’s key advantages is that we own our own oil truck. Having this equipment in-house gives our team greater control over material availability, scheduling, and application. It also allows us to coordinate chip seal projects more efficiently when conditions are right for the work.

With more than 35 years of experience serving North State property owners, we understand how local conditions, pavement age, traffic, drainage, and property use can affect the performance of a surface treatment.

Chip Sealing for Residential & Commercial Properties

Chip sealing can be a practical option for a variety of private and commercial properties, including:

For subdivisions and HOAs, consistent scheduling and a uniform finished appearance are important considerations. For commercial properties, planning the work around property access and normal operations can help minimize disruption.

Is Chip Sealing Right for Your Property?

Chip sealing is not the right solution for every project. The condition of an existing pavement surface, the quality of the underlying base, drainage, traffic, and the intended use of the property all play a role in determining whether chip seal is appropriate. If an existing surface has extensive structural damage, major drainage issues, severe deterioration, or widespread pavement failure, repairs or new asphalt paving may be more appropriate. Likewise, a new chip seal installation requires a properly prepared and graded base.

Quality Surfacing does not take a one-size-fits-all approach. We can evaluate your project, discuss the differences between chip seal and asphalt paving, and help you understand the options available for your property.
